Share your script, your poem, your music, your jokes, or just your support for your talented neighbors at this anything-goes open mic night at Lofty Pigeon Books, hosted by the outrageously charming comedian, performer, New Yorker cartoonist, and author Emily Flake.


Sign up for a performance slot in-person at the store starting at 6pm. 3 minutes per slot; mic, mic stand, stool, and/or PA system provided.

Light refreshments will be served, and attendees get 10% off everything in the store!


About Emily Flake

Emily Flake’s cartoons and humorous essays run regularly in The New Yorker, The Nib, and many other publications. Her weekly strip, Lulu Eightball, ran in alt-weeklies for many years. She’s written and illustrated two books: These Things Ain’t Gonna Smoke Themselves and Mama Tried. Her illustrations and cartoons appear in publications all over the world, including the New York Times, Newsweek, the Globe and Mail, The Onion, The New Statesman, and Forbes. She lives in Kensington, Brooklyn, with her husband, daughter, and disquietingly large Ragdoll cat.
