Windflow/Quantum Dancing Workshop with Ayako Kato

Windflow/Quantum Dancing Workshop with Ayako Kato

Overview

Be a wave-particle with a centered and grounded self for freer expression of dance.

Windflow/Quantum Dancing

Mondays, April 6, 13, 20, 27, 1-3 pm CST

Available through Zoom & in-person @ Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble, 3rd floor Loft, 1650 W Foster Ave. Chicago, IL

From a quantum physics perspective, everything in the universe behaves like both a particle and a wave at the same time. We will physically explore topics around quantum physics and entanglement to reflect on how those principles give us hints to coexist, move, and navigate ourselves better both for our performances on stage and in our current condition of life. Ayako will keep elevating and sharing her somatic and creative routine in order to empty (to be full), strengthen, and prepare yourself for compositional and improvisational dances of y/our own. By building the basic movement skills through clear alignment, Ayako will raise awareness of how to develop movements and creativity. She also takes some questions and shares tips to deepen and expand your skills as performers and beyond.

This is an open-level class. Practitioners of all forms of dance and movement lovers are welcome. Dress comfortably so you can move with ease.
