Aperçu

Join us at the high-level debate on the future of the Baltic Sea offshore investments co-organized by Polish PermRep to the EU and PGE.

Offshore wind has enormous potential to accelerate Europe’s clean energy transition and its role is only growing in the midst of multiple crises. The Baltic region will play a significant role in the development of offshore wind energy in Europe with an estimated potential of more than 93 GW by 2050. The first projects will come online within the next few years and will gradually contribute to the decarbonisation of Baltic power systems. However, the impact of these huge investments reaches beyond the coastal regions into several EU Member States.

This conference aims to review the current state of Baltic offshore investments and discuss what is needed to successfully implement ambitious offshore plans in the region. The two main questions we would like to consider are:

• How can we restore and maintain optimal financial and regulatory conditions for existing and new offshore projects?

• What has to be done to scale-up and speed-up deployment of new offshore investments?

Agenda:

15.00-15.10 Welcome by Andrzej Sadoś, Permanent Representative of Poland to the EU

15.10-15.15 Opening remarks and moderation by Matthew James, Editor in Chief, EnergyPost

15.15-16.25 Panel debate

Małgosia Bartosik, Deputy CEO, WindEurope

Wanda Buk, Vice-President for Regulatory Affairs, PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna

Anca-Iulia Cimpeanu, Deputy Head of Unit, Infrastructure and Regional Cooperation (ENER.C.4)

Bruce Douglas, Director Business & Communications, Eurelectric

Jurga Kasputienė, Deputy Permanent Representative of Lithuania to the EU

16.30-18.00 Reception
