Join the Street Creature Puppet Collective to make your very own glowing Willow Lantern

Join Jennifer Murphy of Street Creature Puppet Collective to brighten the dark of winter with your own hand-crafted lantern made from paper and willow branches. In this cozy, creative workshop, you’ll build and decorate a glowing lantern using paper cutouts and colorful tissue designs while learning about lantern-making traditions and festivals from around the world.All materials are provided — just bring your imagination! Participants are also invited to carry their finished lanterns in the Light the Night AVL Parade in the River Arts District on December 20th. <h3>Equitable Access</h3>We believe everyone deserves access to hands-on learning opportunities, regardless of income. That’s why each workshop includes a limited number of Equitable Access seats.To help us share these opportunities widely:<ul><li>Each participant may claim an Equitable Access seat once per quarter (every three months). </li><li>These spots are first-come, first-served and limited by class size.</li><li>If you’ve already used an equitable seat this quarter, we ask that you register at full price so others can benefit. </li></ul>Please only claim these tickets if cost is truly a barrier for you — this helps ensure that those who need the support most can take part.Each person may use an equitable seat once per quarter so we can continue sharing opportunities widely. <h3>Additional Info</h3>Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in and get settled. Refunds are available up to 72 hours before the event. Bathrooms and refillable water stations are available on site. Our space is a warehouse and can be quite chilly - please dress warmly!
