Willow Basketry Workshop with Karen Coombs. Learn about harvesting, preparing and selecting willow. We will be making an oval egg basket with a god’s eye. We will also learn to make a god’s eye in yarn as practice (if you don’t remember from summer camp!)
Note: Depending on each participant’s weaving pace, additional work outside of program hours could be needed to complete the basket. If you anticipate working at a gentler pace, consider leaving your evening open as the willow must be worked before it dries out. Participants will go home with a basket they made with their own hands as well as the learning and inspiration to create many more.
Accessibility: Moderate hand strength required, participants may be sitting outdoors for most of the workshop.
