Congratulations! You are on your way to becoming a Coyote!

All new-to-college, degree & transfer-seeking students are required to attend Coyote Kickoff (Initial Advisement/ New Student Orientation). This includes students who have earned college credit through ACE, Dual Enrollment, or Hoop of Learning programs and are now high school graduates.

Please Note: If you are a student veteran using VA benefits, Coyote Kickoff is not required, but you are required to attend a separate Veterans-only New Student Orientation which you will be auto-enrolled in. Please email veteransservices@cgc.edu if you have questions.

Requirements to Attend:

✔ Students must have completed Enrollment Steps 1 and 2

✔ Students need to complete one of the following:

  1. Students wanting to enroll directly into college-level English, Reading, and Math must bring a copy of their unofficial high school transcript. The transcript must show high school attendance within the last 10 years and an unweighted cumulative high school GPA of 2.6 or higher.
    Note: Students will need to take the Accuplacer to be considered for CRE101 exemption or placement into a 200-level Math course (MAT206, MAT212 or 213, MAT220 or 221)

    OR

  2. Have completed the Accuplacer placement tests (within the last 2 years) for English, Reading, and Math.

✔ For Privacy Standards and Practices, students must bring a valid photo I.D. (Driver’s License, State ID, Passport)

✔ Tuition is due on the day that you register for classes. If you are not able to pay in full, you may sign-up for a payment plan to hold your class(es) on the day that you register. A $15.00 down payment and a $20.00 payment plan fee per semester ($35.00, non-refundable) is required to secure your class(es).

✔ Students must arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled Coyote Kickoff session to complete check-in. Late arrivals will be asked to reschedule and not permitted to attend.

⚠ Attention Student Under 18 years old: The following form Under 18 Registration & Financial Responsibility must be signed by your Parent/Guardian and brought with you in order to attend.

What to Expect:

At Coyote Kickoff, academic advisors and college staff assist students with registering for their first semester courses. They learn how to access and navigate their online Student Center, discuss major and degree requirements, review important college policies, and prepare them for a successful first semester at CGCC.

Please Note: Due to the small-group format, space limitations prohibit us from allowing additional guests (including parents/guardians) to attend. Therefore, only students should plan to attend. Questions regarding special accommodations should be directed to recruitment@cgc.edu.
