Designing Your Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ (FFL) by Ecosystem
Join Doris Heitzmann, Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ (FFL) Program Manager at UF/IFAS Extension Pinellas County, for an educational presentation on designing a landscape that is beautiful, low-maintenance, and requires less water.
You'll learn about the Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Right Plant, Right Place principle, including how to evaluate your site's unique conditions and select plants that will thrive. The presentation will also explore the original ecosystems of Pinellas County and the native plants that naturally belong in and support these environments.
Whether you're just getting started with native gardening or looking to expand an existing landscape, you'll leave with practical knowledge and confidence to begin creating a resilient, Florida-friendly landscape.
About the Speaker
Doris Heitzmann is the Program Manager of the Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program at Pinellas County UF/IFAS Extension. She focuses on educating community associations and their members on how to adopt water conservation techniques and reduce stormwater runoff, while creating and maintaining attractive and sustainable landscapes. Doris is a horticulturist, landscape designer, ISA Certified Arborist, and a Florida Master Gardener.
