Please join Wild Virginia on Monday, June 17th at 7pm via zoom for a discussion of Eight Bears: Mythic Past and Imperiled Future by Gloria Dickie. The representation of bears in human cultural traditions has existed for thousands of years from the cave paintings at Chauvet to children's favorites of modern times such as Paddington and Winnie the Pooh.
Today the eight remaining species of bears worldwide face challenges to their continued existence that are often due to human activity. In this book Gloria Dickie chronicles the stories of the bears and the humans that are working to save them.
