About this event

Please join us online for our Wikipedia as Public Scholarship workshop on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 12:00PM-1:30PM ET. This introductory workshop will introduce scholars to Wikipedia, address some of the specific concerns experts may face, and provide a space for active discussion about public scholarship on Wikipedia. Topics include navigating privacy issues, concerns around conflict of interest, and getting started with articles that need a lot of work.

This is an interactive workshop. There will be opportunities for discussion, questions, and live editing.

All comp/rhet scholars are welcome no matter their level of experience with Wikipedia. This event is limited to 10 participants.

The workshop will be hosted on Google Meet by Savannah Cragin, the CCCC Wikipedian-in-Residence. This event is sponsored by the CCCC Wikipedia Initiative with funding from the Wikimedia Foundation.
