Master (Devyn) Stone is an author, educator, and JEDI consultant. He is a Leatherman, extrovert, a Sons of Anarchy fan, and a foodie. He enjoys organizing events and moderating! He's been practicing authority transfer dynamics since 2004. Today he lives in Colorado with his property and his doll.

Devyn has authored multiple concise and easy to digest BDSM "how-to" books. He is the Founder of Pragmatically Kinking and the Executive Producer for THRIVE.

Self-Awareness in BDSM

No matter which side of the slash you fall on, what we do requires self-awareness. But what exactly does it mean to be “self-aware?” Let's take a look at a journey to self awareness and what it takes. We will discuss our personalities, how we love, why we fight and, more importantly, how we can work together. Sometimes looking in the mirror is rough but we will make this journey as accessible and comfortable as possible.

The Art of Getting What you Want: Building Agency and Autonomy

While the kink and BDSM scenes are often lauded for more clear and concise negotiations in relationships, these skills often take a lot of practice and tend to overlook other related skills. To be a successful negotiator, one does not just need to know what kinds of kinks they want and don’t want, but also need to nurture their agency and firmly establish boundaries. Devyn Stone, in “The Art of Getting What You Want,” provides frank discussion with attendees on agency and autonomy. In this class, attendees define and explore what it means to create and enforce boundaries, how to determine what exactly you want in a potential negotiation, the fine art of saying no, as well as understanding when you really mean yes. Attendees will leave this class with a clearer understanding of their boundaries, agency, and autonomy, and will be equipped with techniques and tools to develop these crucial concepts.

This class is an introduction to the concept and negotiation of authority transfer dynamics. Understand the foundational concepts and philosophies that inform authority transfer and the necessary components that go into negotiating and establishing an authority transfer. What are these relationships made of? What can you get out of them? What can they bring to you?

Ah the steps to practical ownership and the phases of authority transfer. We negotiate play, right? Well, what about negotiating a dynamic? As many can attest, dynamics are not just about protocols, punishments and service. Stuck on You: Understanding Attachment in Dynamics

What is it really that draws us to feel attached to someone? Where does the sense of connection come from? Devyn Stone, educator and life coach, facilitates deep discussion around topics such as: what are attachment styles? How has childhood informed the formation of attachment? how do we ethically structure our dynamics with attachment styles in mind? Devyn will emphasize interdependence and codependence angles on these topics.

Not Your Mother’s (Protocol) Pie

Like pie, power dynamics and relationships require a solid crust or foundation and delicious filling, and sometimes pies come with an elaborate topping. But what makes up the crust and what are good, compatible fillings? What would the topping of your relationship or dynamic pie look like? In this class we will discuss some basic terminology and theory behind practical protocols. We will even discuss how to create, sustain and enforce various protocols. Where do protocols fit in your life? Do you need them? Let's find out! (Unfortunately, edible pie isn’t included in this class though you’re welcome to bring your own!)
