About this event

Faith in Action Alabama’s 2024 Clergy Leadership Conference will create an opportunity for clergy across race and faith lines from throughout Alabama to grapple with the theological and moral imperative of “neighbor” as essential to the call of justice. Moreover, at the conference the participants will explore how to create multiracial, multifaith movement committed to a vision of justice that bring praise, honor, and glory to the God of Liberation.

Core elements of conference:

- Powerful preaching exploring layers within scripture about the imperative to be a “good neighbor.”

- Dedicated time to teaching about and discussing the hermeneutics of preaching about justice through the lens of being a “good neighbor” – with neighbor not being limited to physical proximity, faith affiliation, or racial identity.

- Learning about and practicing a core community organizing strategy to facilitate the deepening of and building new relationships.

- Action steps to help create congregational teams that translate powerful justice preaching into action.

- Invitation for congregations to become involved in Faith in Action Alabama’s non-partisan 2024 Voter Engagement Campaign.
