Who controls NYC public schools? Join us for a discussion on school governance in NYC.

New York City Public Schools is one of the largest school systems in the country, home to over 1,800 schools. With so many stakeholders involved, the governance of NYC Public Schools has changed hands many times over the years. Knowledge of this historical context has the potential to illuminate how we approach the present and inform our future.

Join Ansley Erickson, PhD, for a discussion on the history of school governance in New York City. In this online workshop, we will examine primary source documents from the New York City Civil Rights History Project that surface thought-provoking insights into how public schools have changed over the years.

Eligible NYS educators will receive 1 hour of CTLE credit.
