How Much Money is Enough?

Money plays a huge role in our lives. We need it to survive but also we often want more than just enough. The more money we have often equals more security. more comfort. more freedom.

But Is there such a thing as “enough” money? How does our culture, comparison, fear, and ambition shape our relationship with money? And what do philosophy, psychology, and different worldviews have to say about wealth, contentment, and the good life?

After a short introduction, we’ll break into small discussion groups where you’re invited to reflect and share your own thoughts and experiences in an open, respectful space.

☕ What to expect:

• A short introduction to the topic
• Bilingual discussion in small groups with diverse viewpoints
• In a friendly, relaxed atmosphere where any view is welcome

🕒 Schedule:

8:00-8:20 - Listen to a bilingual lecture on the night's topic while enjoying snacks and coffee

8:20-9:00 - Discussion in small groups

Afterwards - Stick around and hang out with new friends!

What is IQ Cafe?

IQ Cafe is a place that wants to create a space for you to think deeply.We think it's a shame how many people go through life without reflecting on things that matter. It’s important to take the time to think about the difficult questions in life. It can be easy to live your life and just go through the motions.

The presentations at IQ Cafe are always bilingual because we want you to be able to practice Japanese and English! For the discussion time, there are tables with English and Japanese available. Let's practice language together!

We have Bilingual events every Thursday night at 8pm in Harajuku! We look forward to seeing you there!

お金はいくらあれば十分なのか？
お金は私たちの人生において大きな役割を果たしています。生きていくために必要である一方で、私たちは「十分」以上のお金を求めてしまうことも少なくありません。
お金が増えるほど、安心感や快適さ、自由が増えると感じることが多いでしょう。

しかし、本当に「十分」と言えるお金は存在するのでしょうか。
文化や他人との比較、不安、野心は、私たちのお金との関係をどのように形作っているのでしょうか。
また、哲学や心理学、そしてさまざまな世界観は、富や満足、そして「よい人生」について何を語っているのでしょうか。

短い導入の後、少人数のディスカッショングループに分かれ、オープンで敬意のある雰囲気の中で、それぞれの考えや経験を自由に分かち合います。
