Whether we realize it or not, data science intersects with much of our day-to-day lives… including everyday municipal necessities like trash pick-up, potholes, and parking tickets.

Hosted by Lead Instructor Andy Enkeboll on Flatiron School’s DC campus, this hands-on beginners workshop will teach you how to analyze and visualize DC311 service call data — no prior coding experience required.

During this workshop, you will:

• Explore and analyze live DC311 data using descriptive statistics & data visualization.

• Build a machine-learning model that predicts whether future call volume will lessen—or get worse.

• Build a clustering model that allocates city government resources accordingly.

• Build an interactive web app displaying your models.

Instruction starts at 10am and goes until 4pm, with a catered lunch break in between. (Out of respect for your fellow attendees’ time, please arrive early and plan to hang with us all day — it will disrupt others’ experiences if we have to stop and catch you up!)
