About this event

This event will feature a “round robin” presentation of four different tile styles. Stone, ceramics, glass, metals, and large-format porcelains will be discussed in detail for this event.

Presenters:

JIM MEADE - ELON TILE & STONE

Jim Meade will represent stone. Why should you use stone? Can stone be used in a steam shower? How often does stone need to be sealed? How does it get cleaned? All of these questions and any additional detailed information you need will be available.

SHERYL HASELTON - SONOMA TILEMAKERS

Sheryl has extensive experience both inside a showroom and as a national sales representative for Sonoma Tilemakers. Ceramic, Glass, Metal both hand-glazed and ready to ship inform Sonoma Tilemakers series of tile. Crackle tile? Can it be used in a shower? What is Roku tile? How long does that take to make? Can a metal tile be used in a shower? Where can I use glass tile? Bring your questions!

KRIS VAN STOCKUM - PRATT & LARSON

Kris brings greetings from Portland, Oregon and the world of hand made tile. What are tile trends? What tiles work in a modern, midcentury home? How many colors of tile should I use for a splash or a shower wall? What type of chemistry is used to mix a custom color of tile? Does it matter what the weather is when firing tile?

BEN HALE - DECO VITA TILE

How about a 24x48 inch tile? Is it possible to use that on a wall? A Floor? A backsplash? Ben will be here to answer any questions you have about large format tiles. Won’t they fall off the wall? Ask Ben!
