The Kathy Castor Centre for Counseling and Wellness

We are offering a six-week, in-person women's empowerment group titled 'Trending Topics: For Today's Women', with the fifth topic being 'What is Effective and Assertive Communication?'.Have you ever tried yelling to get your point across? There is a good chance that it felt good, but perhaps did not solve the problem. The reason is that raising our voices and repeating the same things over and over are not as effective as they may seem. When you join this discussion, you will learn effective tools that will help you get your point across in meaningful ways.You are invited to attend any or all of the sessions and feel free to bring your lunch. There is no charge for the meetings, and beverages will be provided.

About the Speaker:Elodia is a mental health counselor at the Centre For Women where she works with individuals and couples across the age span. Her specific areas of interest are in neuroplasticity and non-pharmacological interventions to help reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. Elodia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Science in Psychology, and will complete a Master of Arts in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Florida in May. Elodia's academic focus and masters thesis focused on coping skills courses for university and college students. She currently is involved in research pertaining to innovative design interventions to benefit people seeking mental health care.
