WeOnFyre Cypher is proud to collaborate this month with HipHop Congress' "Atlanta Influences HipHop" 11th Annual HipHop Conference by hosting one of our monthly, free, family-friendly community dance cypher and networking events, which originated here in ATL as a dream of FyreNation Crew co-founder Joy "Kuma" Gasaway in 2014, launched in 2020, and now travels all over the world to provide communities with resources, fellowship, free events & safe spaces, and support!

As our legacy continues, we are currently being filmed professionally for a movie production about the local and international impact and influence of both WeOnFyre Cypher and FyreNation Crew, and portions of our cypher set for Sunday June 29th will be filmed for use in the movie, which will stream on major platforms including apple tv, Roku, Amazon Prime, as well as air live on tv in April of next year across the nation on PBS-affiliated channels.

Due to the filming of the event, ALL ATTENDEES ARE REQUIRED TO RSVP through the provided Eventbrite links, which includes our image use clauses, and be prepared to fill out a standard non-disclosure agreement (NDA) prior to arrival at Georgia Public Broadcasting for the 39th WeOnFyre Cypher event. Click here for the NDA form.

Additionally we ask the following:

1. Arrive as early as possible; parking at GPB is free.

2. Avoid wearing any clothing with known anime, tv show, or movie branding or likenesses, as well as avoid clothing with vulgar, profane or offensive designs, words or phrases.

3. When portions of the event are being filmed, cooperate with the directions to make the process easier.

4. Do not haggle, or otherwise solicit the cinematographer for any footage, photos, or ask to be in any shots not designated in the script.

5. No filming, photographing, or posting of any content while on-set--this is a professional production with legal ramifications, so any leaks will be prosecuted by the production company to the fullest--you will be sued!

Thank you for attending our event, and being part of our story!

Originally from Orlando, Florida, Joy moved to Atlanta as a child with her family. She has always had an affinity for the arts, including dancing, drawing, and music production, and began displaying her love of the arts all the way into her adult years. She created the WeOnFyre Cypher with the community in mind, since she noticed that it was often hard to find creative communities in Atlanta that were open to the public, and feels a deep desire for creating an outlet for positive artistic creativity, self-expression, and mental health awareness, which ties into her business brand, Spiritual Palate. She joined FyreNation Crew in October of 2020, and reintroduced the idea of her cypher with the crew behind her to help with momentum. Since creating the cypher in early 2021, WeOnFyre Cypher has traveled to various locations in and around Atlanta, as well as other states including Florida and Tennessee, and every time the cypher occurs, new members of the community, dancers of all ages and backgrounds, and general appreciators of the arts become intrigued by the movement and wish to support its reoccurrence. As part of both FyreNation Crew and WeOnFyre Network, Joy travels, teaches and performs, speaks up for the rights of dancers to be properly educated and compensated for their work, womens' rights not to be underpaid or subjected to sexualization, patronization or gender-based belittling, and advocates for the arts to be recognized as a tool to promote community health, healing, and social unity, so that all creatives can find a path to turn their artistry into a career that sustains them.
