Wellness Workshop

Debris Free Oceans is a Miami-based 501(c)3 nonprofit with the mission of empowering local communities to go zero-waste so all can have access to clean oceans and a healthy environment. Since its inception in 2014, DFO has engaged over 13K volunteers in picking up over 68K pounds of abandoned material, educated more than 15K students on the plastic pollution crisis and zero-waste solutions, hosted more than 500 zero-waste events, and prevented the use of more than 2M single use plastics through sustainability consulting.

A morning of wellness with Megan Newmans at the Doral Yard featuring a yoga flow, Kombucha cocktails, and a DIY workshop with essential oils

The Doral Yard

We are so excited to host our first-ever event at the beautiful <a href="https://thedoralyard.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Doral Yard</a>, the new location of the Wynwood Yard, with <a href="https://www.megannewmans.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Megan Newmans</a>, a Miami-based holistic health coach &amp; yoga instructor of 10+ years.At 10 am, Megan will guide us through a yoga flow and teach us how to use essential oils to enhance our yoga practice. Then at 11 am, we will enjoy Health-Ade kombucha that the bartenders of the Yard will craft into delicious cocktails (if desired, of course, and if you are of age!). della bowls will also be passing out free delicious samples.As we sip our cocktails, we will repurpose our kombucha bottles into spray bottles while Megan teaches us how to make our own DIY cleaning spray with essential oils. Megan will discuss how such a practice is beneficial for our health, and Debris Free Oceans will chat about how this supports the environment.We will provide all of the supplies for the workshop, but please BYO yoga mat. All activities will take place outside. Proper facial coverings are required when not actively participating in yoga. The yoga class will take place on a turf area but due to social distancing protocols, a few might have to practice on the street- turf area will be allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis. Workshop participants will be seated at picnic tables- once you purchase your ticket, you&#x27;ll be prompted to let us know who else is in your party (max of 6 people, please), so that we can be sure to seat you together at your reserved, socially distanced table for the workshop.
