Join us for a rejuvenating Wellness Workshop at Descanso Gardens in La Cañada Flintridge! Take a break from the distractions of everyday life and immerse yourself in self-discovery of both your physical being and mind. Our workshop offers a unique approach to mental, physical, and spiritual health through various activities meant to increase self-awareness and improve clarity. From Yoga, Qigong, and Meditation, to writing exercises and presentations, there is a variety of different approaches to self-discovery that everyone can enjoy.

What will the day look like?

You will meet at the Maple Room at Descanso Gardens at 9:00am and meet the team of presenters and other participants. You will first learn about changing your perceptions of the physical body through a presentation and then engage in a qigong exercise. From there, 2 licensed mental health professionals will discuss how thought patterns impact your decision making and break for an hour lunch. The discussion on thought patterns will continue, then lead into the experiential part of the day involving yoga, meditation and a focus on breathing. The workshop will end at 4:00pm, but you are welcome to stay and walk around the gardens until closing time at 7:00pm.

Who will be presenting?

This Wellness Workshop will have 5 different presenters. You will hear from 2 licensed mental health professionals from Couch Conversations Psychotherapy and Counseling, Inc. from Montrose, CA. You will hear from Jojo Katabyan, philosopher, writer, and former fitness coach. You will engage in experiential mindfulness experiences with two mindfulness experts, including the founder of Tools for your Life, Paul Miller.

Will does the cost of my ticket cover?

-Presentations, exercises, journaling, yoga, meditation, qigong and more!

-A light lunch (served at noon). Vegetarian and vegan options available.

-Cost of Descanso Gardens ticket which can be used until 7:00pm

Will there be physical movement involved?

Yes, including a brief meditative walk in the gardens, some gentle yoga and stretches, qigong, and sitting on the floor on top of a mat.

What do I need to bring?

Your yoga mat, a journal if desired, and a water bottle to stay hydrated (water will be provided).
