Welcome Spring!

Welcome Spring!

Greenwood ParkStoneham, MA
Wednesday, Mar 25 from 9:15 am to 11:30 am
Overview

Please join Boot at Greenwood Park for a spring nature walk.

Leader: Boot Boutwell

Pace: Slow

Difficulty: Moderate, with some rocky inclines with uneven surfaces.

Appropriate for: All. Children ages 10+ welcome if accompanied by an adult.

About Boot: Roland “Boot” Boutwell, a freelance itinerant naturalist, has been leading nature walks for the Friends of the Fells for over 25 years. He has also led walks and/or taught botany programs for a number of other organizations including The Trustees of Reservations, Arlington Community Education, The Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions, Winchester public schools, Wright-Locke Farm in Winchester, The New England Wild Flower Society and the Massachusetts Audubon Society.

About the walk: The Vernal Equinox occurred on Friday, March 20th. Come celebrate the arrival of spring on Wednesday then 25th with a slow-paced nature walk. We’ll begin with a little poetry and then head out into the woods around Greenwood Park to enjoy the beauty of nature and look for some signs of spring. As usual, the walk will focus on plant identification & natural history.

Meet in the Greenwood Park parking lot, 176 Pond St across from the Stone Zoo in Stoneham.

Steady rain or heavy snow cancels.

**Please do not register unless you can absolutely attend this walk. We often have waitlists and would like as many folks as possible to be able to attend.**

Contact: Contact Boot Boutwell (781-729-4712) or friends@fells.org with any questions and/or concerns.

Dogs: This program is not suitable for our furry friends (it's a moderate hike with uneven terrain). Please take a look at our calendar for other walks that are good for dogs to join!

Please note: Emails from Eventbrite may end up in your spam folder. Please check your spam folder if you have registered for the waitlist to ensure that you are receiving the email notifications. We also suggest removing Eventbrite from your spam sender list.
