Description
The WEGG Workshop on Exporting is designed to give participants an introductory understanding of exporting. Laurel Delaney, President of WEGG, will facilitate a discussion with Lisa Bitsky, President of Automated Design Corp. and winner of the Governor’s Exporter of the Year Award, around how to get started in exporting, find customers, get paid, and leverage social media to boost your global business.
About Lisa BitskyLisa Bitsky is President and owner of Automated Design Corp., located just outside of Chicago, Illinois in Romeoville. Started in 1986, along with her husband, Automated Design builds custom automation and Sports research and testing equipment, selling globally since the 1990’s. In this role, she established the company’s export programs that expanded their customer base internationally, working with all of the major players in the Sporting Goods industry. Additionally, Lisa is a mentor to other women owned businesses in the Chicago area.
While President, Lisa was the first recipient of the STEP program award in Illinois, This award allowed Automated Design a Grant to expand sales to China and South Korea. Automated Design was winner of “Exporter of the Year” in 2013. Lisa has sat on several panels, encouraging new businesses. These include the “Heels of Business” and the American Express Grow Global Event. Lisa has also copyrighted and sells “QUICKTIP” bag tags, an instructional golf bag tag that demonstrates the proper setup on how to play an uneven lie correctly.
Automated Design has worked closely with governing bodies around the world, in both Golf and Baseball, to establish new testing procedures to both improve the game and protect the safety of the players.
Purpose of workshop
The workshop is intended for students aspiring to go global, small business owners, entrepreneurs, and attendees at our monthly WEGG Webinar series to meet in person and stimulate a discussion around the benefits and challenges to exporting. Our goal with the workshop is to unlock export potential in each person’s business.

Other details: The Polsky Exchange (formerly Chicago Innovation Exchange) does not have any parking within the building although you can park on the street or at Harper Court which is located on the next block. PE is located on the second floor beside A10 and Five Guys. Once you are inside the Polsky Exchange there will be signs to direct you to the Promontory Point Room. We have also arranged a short tour of the facility nearing the end of our workshop.
