Women Entrepreneurs Grow Global®is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.  wegg's mission is to educate women business owners and entrepreneurs worldwide on how to go global so they can run healthier businesses and create a new future for themselves, their families and their community. wegg's purpose is to make exporting as easy, affordable, and engaging as possible for women who are starting or growing their businesses, no matter where in the world they are located.

<H3>The WEGG &amp; ICNC Export Workshop is designed to give participants an understanding of what it takes to successfully export products.  Sonat Birnecker Hart, co-founder of KOVAL Distillery and winner of the <I>Exporter of the Year 2016</I> award, will discuss, “The Top 3 Export Lessons Learned from a Chicago Distillery.”</H3>

<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV>After receiving an MSt from Oxford and a PhD from the University of London, Sonat Birnecker Hart spent over a decade as a full professor in both the United States and Germany. In 2008, she gave up tenure in hopes of a different quality of life; one that would afford an opportunity for her to work with her husband, give up commuting, and return to the city she loved: Chicago. As owner and president of KOVAL Distillery, she has spearheaded product development, distribution, and marketing. With over 50 awards, including gold medals on both sides of the Atlantic, KOVAL is considered one of America’s leading craft distilleries. Recently earning the title, Illinois Exporter of the Year, KOVAL has demonstrated a focus on international distribution and growth abroad with availability throughout the EU, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Japan, South Korea, and in the coming months, Taiwan and China.

<DIV>In addition to KOVAL, Sonat also co-founded Kothe Distilling Technologies, a distillery startup consulting firm that has educated over 3,000 people in the art of distilling while setting up over 150 distilleries for others in the US and Canada in the past 6 years. <DIV><BR><STRONG>Purpose of workshop</STRONG><BR><BR>The workshop is intended for students aspiring to go global, small business owners, entrepreneurs, and attendees at WEGG's WEGGinar™ series and ICNC's programs a chance to meet in person together to stimulate a discussion around the benefits and challenges to exporting. Our goal with the workshop is to unlock export potential in each person’s business.</DIV>

<P><STRONG></STRONG>We have also arranged a short tour of KOVAL Distillery after our workshop has ended, from 11:10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Central.  All participants who shop in the KOVAL Distillery gift shop receive a 10 percent discount on their sale, compliments of KOVAL Distillery. </P>
