Goondiwindi Regional Council has partnered with DJB AGRI Solutions to provide nationally recognised remote first aid training (HLTAID013 Provide First Aid in Remote & Isolated Site) in Weengallon.
Working on rural properties presents distinct challenges and risks, requiring a specialised skill set and training to effectively manage potential hazards and respond to emergencies should they arise.
Date: 29th & 30th May 2024
Time: 8:30-3:30pm
Location: Weengallon Hall
This two-day comprehensive training requires no prerequisites to undertake and starts from the basics and builds up from there, with three key areas to the course:
1. A risk management component to give participants a thorough understanding of the preparation required to ensure safety in rural and remote areas but also how to create contingency plans should something go wrong.
2. A focus on the ability to care for an injured patient for an extended period of time and watch for any changes that might be vital to the ongoing survival and treatment of the patient.
3. Moving patients safely when it is not possible for medical aid to reach the site of the incident.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive nationally recognised certification.
*There will be an online component of the training you must complete before the practical days. Please ensure you have booked your spot two weeks before and you've provided your home address and contact details (closing date is 15th May).
