About this event

The Congregation for Sacred Practices is a religious organization that works with sacred plant medicines to offer healing and spiritual guidance to those on the awakening path. Our aim is to increase the capacity of our Ministers and community to access and expand their Divine awareness.

Meditations, like sacred journeys, is a wonderful tool to allow us to quiet the ego, expand the mind and open the heart. Each of us has the ability to develop the skills to access the inner space of awareness, joy, creativity, compassion and joy without the medicine, and to more easily navigate that inner space when in or when guiding ceremonies. Regular meditation practice, especially in community, can build these skills. Sessions are 30 minutes in length, and will begin with a short talk and move right into guided practice. We will bring in a series of time-tested mindfulness and compassion based meditations.

These weekly guided Sacred Meditation sessions that will be lead by Laurie Cameron or Cindy Storman. Laurie and Cindy are both certified meditation teachers and Ministers at the Congregation, and are delighted to nurture a community of meditators to deepen their own capacity to awaken, as well as to support other members on their spiritual journeys.

Once you sign up, you will be invited into our community portal where you may join for this class once, or join us weekly. Up to you!

About Laurie Cameron

My work is integrative, embodied, spiritual, and is dedicated to human flourishing and individual and collective awakening. As a student of Thich Nhat Hanh for 28 years, I incorporate meditation, IFS, somatics, nature, ritual, ancestral healing and coaching into sacred medicine journeys, workshops and retreats.

I love to translate contemplative science and wisdom into clear practice, and am the National Geographic author of The Mindful Day and Everyday Mindfulness, and the author of Audible's The Power of Self-Compassion. I am a certified master-level meditation teacher, an IFC certified coach, and a certified minister of sacred practices using plant medicines.

A former Accenture Change Leader, and the founder of PurposeBlue, I've been working with clients for 30 years in the areas of transformational healing, change, and conscious awakening. I guide in my dedicated meditation and art-filled ceremony space in Chevy Chase, MD, where my golden retriever gently accompanies clients on their journeys.

About Cindy Storman

Cindy is a guide and spiritual counselor who uses psychedelic medicines to help her clients work through challenges and aspirations in order to help them create a more meaningful and authentic life. She not only guides people through the deep dive experiences (journey work) but also guides people through a 30-Day Microdosing Protocol. She has been teaching Yoga and meditation since 1999 and is a certified Thai massage therapist. In 2016 she received her Master Certification in Intuition Medicine®. All of these modalities allow her to create a unique space for preparation, integration, and deep healing.

Her natural intuition and loving presence create a very safe space for her clients to align with their natural and unique sense of wholeness. Cindy works with an array of folks with issues ranging from deep childhood wounds all the way to finding a deeper sense of purpose in their lives. She encourages her clients to approach healing with a sense of curiosity and compassion.
