Meeting Learning Needs Through Emergent Curriculum

NJEEPRE welcomes the Weekday School as a new host site!

Join us for a tour of the school, with a closer look at one classroom in particular where the developmental needs of the children were so varied the teachers thoughtfully modified the structure of the day. Through careful observation, exploration, and small group interactions, the children's interest and play became the impetus for an emerging restaurant study. The class collaboratively imagined, designed, and brought a restaurant to life, using their questions, theories, and relationships as the curriculum, and weaving literacy, math, social studies, and social-emotional learning into a deeply meaningful, child-centered experience.

Light refreshments will be served. Participants will receive a two hour professional development certificate.
