Playtime with the Wombats! engages families with young children (ages 3-6) in fun and active play focused on developing kids’ computational thinking skills. Computational thinking is the process of formulating and solving problems by breaking them down into simple steps.
Join Zeke from the hit PBS KIDS animated show "Work It Out Wombats!" to “play the show” at The Bay with hands-on, engaging activities including:
- Treeborhood Cause and Effect Machine: Explore how knowing down a domino (the cause) makes the rest of the dominoes fall (the effect).
- Everything Emporium Farm Stand: Identify important details about the fruits and vegetables and use that to sort them.
- Ice Cream Delivery: Follow or create a set of steps to deliver an ice cream cone.
- Shape Cakes: Break down the big puzzle shape into smaller shapes. Then try it again in a different way!
Playtime with the Wombats! is one of 180+ free events being held April 20-May 4 as part of Suncoast Remake Learning Days due to the generosity of The Patterson Foundation.
