Actualize Artist in Residency (AiR) is a woman-run and woman founded art organization. Our mission is to foster and accelerate the careers of emerging artists by creating space and opportunities, establishing an artist alliance in downtown Seattle.Actualize AiR is part of the Shunpike Storefronts & Artist Residencies Program, and is powered by Shunpike with additional support from 4Culture.

<h2>Becoming Visible: A Participatory Workshop Series on Marketing</h2> This event is part of the Actualize AiR Artist Development Series, in partnership with Curatorial Resident Regina Carillo. Through guided exercises, real-world examples, and group discussion, participants will explore how building an audience goes beyond numbers and becomes a tool for connection, visibility, and growth.Key themes:<ul><li>Identifying your audience</li><li>Building genuine connection vs chasing metrics</li><li>Aligning your work with the right communities </li></ul>Workshop ScheduleOpening &amp; Icebreaker (30 min)<ul><li>Introductions</li><li>Who do you think your audience is today?</li><li>Who engages with your work and why?</li></ul>Understanding Audience in Practice (15 min)<ul><li>What does “audience” really mean for artists?</li><li>Examples of artists and creative communities building strong audiences</li><li>Discussion: audience as community vs audience as numbers</li></ul>Reflection Activity (30 min)<ul><li>Participants will define and refine their audience through guided prompts:</li><li>Who is your work for?</li><li>How do people discover your work?</li><li>What emotions, ideas, or experiences do you want your audience to have?</li></ul>Integration &amp; Application (30 min)<ul><li>Where and how to reach your audience: platforms, spaces, and communities</li></ul>Strategies to build engagement and long-term relationships<ul><li>Turning audience insights into actionable steps</li></ul>Closing &amp; Networking (15 min)<ul><li>Share reflections</li><li>Open conversation and connection</li></ul>
