WECODE KC is an initiative that serves the urban core of Kansas City focusing on exposing technology, cyber security, and computer science concepts to area youth. Learning the basic concept of coding develops creativity, problem solving skills, builds confidence and helps to build a positive future. Every child, no matter their zip code or their family’s financial status, should have the opportunity to learn to code.

WeCode KC Coding Classes for Students

WeCode KC is a program dedicated to introducing technology to area students age 7-17.  This is a FREE program, ran by volunteers, who are committed to ensuring students understand tech and can create a future career in the industry.

This week we will have visitors from Nationwide and the Lauren Holiday Impact award nominees from the NWSL!! Our schedule will look slightly different, but Python class will go on! Parents must be onsite for check-in to sign a photograph and media waiver required by the NWSL.This will be our final regular Python class for the season, so Robots with Python is back with by request! Come and code your very own robot. Instruct it to move and speak when and where you tell it. At the class end, students can display their robots to the group.PARENTS: Please note that our instructors are dedicated professionals who work in their respective fields and volunteer their time. WeCodeKC strives to serve all students who show an interest in coding, IT, and web development. Our goal is to provide a safe, inclusive, and equitable environment for every student who wants to learn. If you have a student with special needs, ADHD, ASD, or other conditions that might prevent them from focusing for 45 minutes at a time, please be prepared to come to class with your student.
