Meet our newest Galvanize Web Developers!
They’re bridging impressive backgrounds with 24 weeks of hands-on, project-based full stack web development training.
Each student spends two weeks at the end of the program on a self-directed project. They build full stack web applications, and the Capstone Showcase gives graduates the chance to demonstrate their creativity and technical expertise. Each candidate is excited to join the industry in a full-time web development role.
At our Capstone Showcase, you and your team will have the opportunity to see projects they built, meet them face-to-face, and review their backgrounds in detail. Come check out the projects and learn about how we are educating our students! The event also includes snacks and a networking happy hour. There’s really no better way to meet qualified candidates in a single day. Afterwards, you are free to continue the conversation in the format of your choice. Not hiring? No problem! Come and enjoy the discussion, presentations, and happy hour.
Galvanize Capstone Showcase Schedule:
3:00 PM: Doors open & Snacks served
3:30 PM: Welcome and Company Introductions
3:45 PM: Keynote Speaker – Dan McKernan
Dan McKernan is a User Design Director for InspireHUB Technologies as well as the Founder and Executive Director of Barn Sanctuary. He began his web development career helping a yoga fitness brand launch their website before developing his own freelance design company focused on digital marketing and web development. He has since worked for multiple tech startups where he ran social media campaigns, did design work, and created strategies to fuel digital growth. He now works in downtown Austin, Texas, where he helps nonprofits and charities increase member engagement – specifically through digital development and user experience design, an area that most nonprofits lack in.
4:00 PM: Capstone Project Presentations
Listen to our graduates present an overview of their personal projects. They’ll explain their stack and show off the technical details.
5:00 PM: Networking Happy Hour with the graduates in a less formal setting and learn more about their projects and backgrounds. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask any questions of the staff.
Our focus at Galvanize is on serving our students, so we don’t charge recruiting fees. There is no fee to attend this event, nor does Galvanize charge a placement fee. We’d love to have you give back and help us build the community through guest lectures, hosting a project, or contributing to our diversity scholarship fund.
In order to get the most of this event and to respect the time and effort of our students’ work, we request that your company send at least one representative that can attend the entire event.
