Our websites and apps provide information, allow people to purchase something, or provide access to a range of services. But the way we design and build can make it difficult — and sometimes impossible — for people with disabilities to access services and information. Equal access to digital products is the responsibility of everyone on the team. By learning and understanding the foundations on how to design for a more inclusive digital experience, designers can help their organizations and clients not just stay compliant with the law, but also ensure that their services and products reach all potential customers users.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;h3&gt;Course 1: What is digital accessibility? aka Accessibility is about people&lt;/h3&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM PDT&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;People are diverse and everyone has abilities, and limits to those abilities. An introduction to digital accessibility and designing for various needs of people with permanent, temporary, or situational disabilities. On the first day, we will: </p><ul><li>Identify different types of abilities and potential barriers experienced on the web</li><li>Begin to dive into the how-to’s of designing for people with various needs </li></ul><p>&lt;h3&gt;Course 2: We aren’t designing for designers!&lt;/h3&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM PDT&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;As designers, it is our responsibility to make sure our designs are accessible to the full range of people. Learn about best practices and resources to ensure that you are designing inclusively. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;h3&gt;Course 3: Putting it all together&lt;/h3&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM PDT&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;Learn how to review a website for accessibility errors from the top down. Together we will perform a typical “accessibility review” of a website.
