About this event

Expert stitchers Michelle Santoro and Nora Scully are collaborating to bring you the second workshop in WEAD's garment mending series: Holes and Stains.

Mending is a practical and artistic practice that helps reduce consumption and build community.

Bring a garment you need mended. The stitch doctors will be in the house to diagnose and advise mending options. We will help you through it.

In this workshop, you will focus on garments from your closet that have holes or are stained. You might bring a well-loved pair of jeans that have worn through the knee or a shirt that has stains from an awesome party.

Fill out our survey to let us know what you would like to work on during our time together.

  1. Bring your torn or stained clothes that need repair.
  2. If you have extra remnant fabric bring that, too. We will help you repurpose it.
  3. Meet other creative people like yourself who make stuff.
  4. Stay after for an optional sewing lab from 3 to 4pm, if you would like.

🧵WORKSHOP DETAILS:

  • This workshop will be in Nora's studio in Oakland, California.
  • The studio address will be shared after registration.
  • Suggested donation is $10 for WEAD members and $45 for non-members. Click here to join WEAD.
