WE NYC, in partnership with Mastercard, is thrilled to announce the launch of our 1-on-1 Tech Mentorship Program for women entrepreneurs. This program connects women-led small businesses with Mastercard employees who bring expertise in the following areas:

  • Cybersecurity: Safeguard your business with best practices like multi-factor authentication, password protection, and data security policies.
  • Digital Marketing: Enhance your online presence with strategies in SEO, social media marketing, and content development.
  • Digital Payments: Streamline your transactions with insights into POS systems, payment platforms, and online payments.
  • Artificial Intelligence: Learn how to leverage generative AI for content creation, productivity, and business innovation.
  • Product Development/Management: Build and scale successful products with guidance in roadmapping, MVP development, and product strategy.

This mentorship program is tailored for women-led businesses currently in operation (with some sales) and aims to provide actionable insights and solutions to your most pressing challenges.

How It Works:

Step 1: Complete the intake form, where you’ll share your business details and select the areas where you need mentorship (you can choose more than one!).

Step 2: Describe your business and the specific challenges you’re facing.

Step 3: Connect with your Mastercard mentor, who will offer professional guidance and strategies tailored to your needs.

How to maximize your experience with WE NYC

  1. Your mentor may recommend different resources, such as other services from SBS, to better meet your needs. Take advantage of them as they are supplemental to the advice you are receiving.
  2. This service offering does not provide grants, business loans, CPA services, or legal services, but your mentor may be able to suggest other SBS services or outside resources to assist you in those areas. Keep an open mind about what you think you may need initially, and work with your mentor to try to define a solution and next steps.
  3. Your business is not built in a day. Similarly, you benefit most from WE NYC by meeting with a mentor for more than a one-hour appointment. Based on mutual availability, and if there are additional needs/questions, you may request to meet with your mentor again.

What we expect from you

  1. Our mentors are volunteers. Their time is given freely to help you and others achieve your goals and dreams with a small business venture. Out of respect of your time and our mentors’ time, we ask that you follow through on any scheduled appointments or provide a minimum of 24 hours' notice of a change. If you need to cancel and/or reschedule your appointment, please contact your Mastercard WE Connect mentor directly.
  2. You and your mentor will work together to identify key areas to focus on to build to your business success. While your mentor is there to help you, they will not do the work for you. You are responsible for moving your business forward.
  3. After you first meet with your mentor, you will receive an electronic survey from WE Connect about our service within the month of your meeting. The survey will take you about 1 minute to complete. We ask for your feedback in order to continue to improve our service
