This exhibition will be composed of work by Asian American artists based in Washington, DC and is co-curated by Emon Surakitkoson and Amy Lokoff. 20% of proceeds will be split between 3 local organizations combating racism, white supremacy, and targeted attacks: <a href="https://www.dcblm.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Black Lives Matter DC</a>, <a href="https://www.collectiveactiondc.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Collective Action for Safe Spaces</a> (CASS), and <a href="https://www.aalead.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Asian American Youth Leadership Empowerment and Development</a> (AALEAD). The goal of this exhibition is simply to provide visibility and a small platform for DC-based Asian-American artists to share their art and stories. We hope this show can offer an opportunity for participating artists and visitors alike to build community, start new conversations, learn from one another, and find moments of connection, healing, levity, or growth. HOMME is a small (but mighty!) gallery space so we will be planning some virtual programming and online materials to expand this show.
