Waycross Summer Film Workshop 2024 - Grades 7-12

Waycross Community Media will be holding a Summer Film Workshop for youth in grades 7-12. This two week, eight session summer workshop will introduce students to the process of film making. The students will create a short film (between 10-15 minutes), complete with credits and soundtrack, while learning the fundamentals of how films are created. This is a hands-on workshop. With the help of our workshop leaders, the participants will develop a concept, create a script and serve as cast and production crew.

The workshop will conclude with a premier party for friends and family, with each student receiving a copy of the completed project. This is an opportunity for kids to be exposed to several new skills in a fun environment and to have a tangible result to show teachers, college admissions officers, and family.

NEW: Glenn Hartong is BACK! We are bringing back Glenn Hartong, Emmy Award winning producer, Enquirer photojournalist, and more, to lead the students.

Dates: The workshops will be held Monday through Thursday from June 3 - June 13, 2024, 1 PM to 5 PM. A premiere party for attendees and their families will be held on Friday, July 12 at 6 PM. (Premiere date pending)

The workshop will be held at the Waycross Community Media Center, 2086 Waycross Road, Forest Park.

There is a registration fee of $200 (plus an eventbrite fee) for this Workshop.
