Prom 2020 COVID Guidelines

Dear Students and Parents,

Here are the final plans for Prom 2020! Under the current COVID guidelines, our event has been approved for 35% event capacity which will be 100 people to include staff, students, and chaperones. Before listing the plans, we would like for you to know that the following authorities were consulted, the latest guidelines were discussed by all parties, and recommendations and requirements were made in order to establish these procedures for the event, including: Augusta Museum of History event planner and staff, Richmond County Sheriff's Office, Richmond County Fire Marshall, Liberty Independent Private School Administration, and Prom Committee.

Prom 2020: Way Back When Timeless Twenties is an optional private event. By purchasing your ticket and allowing your student to attend this optional event, you are assuming all risks associated with the event. The museum, local authorities, contracted workers, Liberty Independent Private School administration, faculty sponsors, prom committee, and chaperones are not held liable for any sickness your student may contract either before, during, or after the event. There is no waiver to sign; we are just simply making you aware of the fact that this type of situation is a parent's responsibility to assess and make the decision for his or her own student's health. No one is obligated to attend the event for any reason. In allowing your student to attend under these conditions, you are agreeing to assume your own responsibility for your student's health.

COVID guidelines have been established to mitigate the safety and health of the participants, students, volunteers, staff, and contractors for CSRA Home School Prom 2020: Way Back When Timeless Twenties private event held at Augusta History Museum.

We are excited to see you Saturday evening for Way Back When: Timeless Twenties CSRA Homeschool Prom. Our event is a 20's theme so feel free to dress the part.

Tisha Sherman will be taking arrival pictures of your group at the fountain outside the Augusta History Museum. There are many great locations downtown for Prom Photos - the Riverwalk, Saint Paul's Church, Augusta Riverwalk Marina to name a few.

We will have a fantastic DJ, yummy desserts and drinks, JW Impressions will be providing a Magic Mirror photo booth to print your Prom pictures onsite, we'll crown the prom king and queen, and toast the seniors! It will be a night to remember!

PLEASE BRING YOUR TICKETS - either in print or on your device for entry.

We have done everything in our capability to make this as safe an event as possible. As far as safety protocols and COVID19 procedures to negate the risk of COVID19 are as follows:

1 sheriff and 1 fire marshall on hand for the duration of our event

Everyone will be screened for temperature and COVID19 symptoms, no one with a temp of 100.4 or greater will be admitted

Proper handwashing and sanitation is required

Sanitizing stations and restrooms are available

All adults will be required to wear masks throughout the event

Students are not required to wear a mask but masks are encouraged

Food will be served by our adult chaperones who will wear masks and food service gloves. It is important to know that students cannot serve themselves due to a risk of cross-contamination.

The dance floor has been separated into sections to allow for up to 20 students in each section; each pre-registered group will be separated from another group by 6 feet. Each section will have approximately 3 groups or "pods" of students which will be socially distanced from one another. We are asking that only groups that arrive together dance together (ie... couples dancing).

For groups and persons not arriving together, students may absolutely move around and socialize with a 6-foot distance.

Students will be assigned a table for the evening. It is important not to be "table-hopping" due necessary sanitation requirements.

We look forward to celebrating with you!
