Kathryn will provide an overview of the workshop materials, including an assortment of watercolour paint brushes, with visual examples of their brush strokes.

Part 2: Brushwork Techniques and Beyond!

Participants can follow along with easy to learn techniques using synthetic/natural paint brushes, household items and more.

11:15 AM - 11:30 AM

Part 3: Q&A / Clean Up and Brush Maintenance

Kathryn will end the workshop with helpful tips and techniques for keeping your watercolour brushes and paints in great condition for many years to come.

Watercolour 101: Brushwork Techniques and Beyond

Visual Artist Kathryn Wadel will introduce participants to a variety of synthetic and natural watercolour paint brushes. Follow along as she demonstrates techniques with each brush and encourage experimental mark-making by using other watercolour painting tools.

How do I attend the online workshop?

Once you have registered for the online event, you will be able to view the Online Event Page with a link to access to live painting session.

What supplies are required for this painting session? Are they included?

Supplies are not provided. Participants will need to source their own painting supplies and are encouraged to up-cycled materials and work within their budget - no need to break the bank in order to create and artistically express yourself!

Is there a recommended list of supplies to bring to the painting session?

Yes! Registered attendees have access to the recommended supply list on the Online Event Page. The list includes watercolour paints, brushes, paper and water containers, along with additional studio essentials for a successful painting session.

I registered for the session but am unable to attend. What do I do?

Not to worry! Registered attendees will receive a link to a recording of the painting session to view for a WHOLE MONTH. Paint at your own pace.
