This class is part of a first series of four classes, intended for those who want to start painting with watercolors. I´´'ll try to show the whole process, from doing a sketch, adding water, grabbing the brush, mixing colors and ... putting them onto the paper; all explained briefly in a simple way, so that YOU can make your own project during the workshop. We'll be working after some photo references. These are not recorded previously. In each class I'll show some example(s), will show in my camera part of the technique or the subject of the class then you'll work after some image(s) I will share on the screen. These are not follow along classes where you have to copy what I'm doing. As usual, those who want, can show their work after we have finished.
Possible materials:
- grab the watercolors and brushes that you already have
- a white dish or flat acrylic palette to hold and mix your colors
- a 2B graphite pencil or ant watercolor pencil (+eraser +sharpener)
- watercolor paper (A4 or A5)
- Toilet or towel paper
- piece of cloth to clean and dry your brushes
- 2 containers with water
- a firm carboard/wood /acrylic to hold your paper (+masking tape or paper clips)
- a piece of cotton
- a couple of white regular printer's paper.
You'll receive this list on your email. You can adapt it depending on what you already have. There might be some other things necessary for the following classes but you will be told in advance. If you have any question, please ask me.
This is the plan for these four classes.
WATERCOLOR. Basic and simple.
CLASS 1 of 4: The use of watercolors - pans or tubes - how to apply them on some. Monochrome composition. Balance pigment-water.
CLASS 2 of 4: Color mixing - Depending on the colors you have we will do different tests and we'll apply the mixes on some composition
CLASS 3 of 4: Different ways to have white spaces in our composition.
CLASS 4 of 4: Painting wet on wet. Let's apply this to an atmospheric perspective painting.
The four classes above are totally different. When a same class is done more than once on different dates, the contents are never fully repeated, only some examples perhaps. The reference images we work from are always different.

A recording might be available after each class, just let me know in case you are interested for the same price of the class.

These are part of a series of drawing, sketching and painting classes (WTDP) especially for beginners and anyone who wants to learn different ways of drawing and painting, since there isn't only one, as there isn't only one way to do things in life. In each class you are encouraged to experimenting with different subjects and media (i.e. graphite, colored pencils , pastels, charcoal, ball and fountain pens, markers, watercolours, gouache, acrylics, etc.)
The classes are in English (some Spanish can be spoken too).
