Wasted

The Peale Center for Baltimore History and Architecture, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is restoring the oldest museum building in the United States in partnership with the City of Baltimore. Through its programs, the Peale Center will illuminate the authentic stories of Baltimore's people and places while reinventing the urban museum in the creative and innovative spirit of its founder, artist Rembrandt Peale.

Wasted

Tequila, clubbing, fights, lost friends, and being sick in the toilet. Emma and Oli face the consequences of a night out. Inspired by real events, Wasted explores consensual sex and what can happen when lines, and memories, are blurred. Wasted is like no other play that you will see in Baltimore this fall—straight from New York (by way of London), the show packs one fateful night’s drama in an hour-long show. Award winning Irish writer and director Kat Woods presents a completely original theatrical experience that will be available to college campuses Fall 2018.
Wasted was originally performed at the Gilded Balloon at the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe, before transferring to the SoHo Playhouse in New York, as part of their Encore series. Kat Woods is critically-acclaimed for other works, Belfast Boy and Mule and a two times recipient of the Peggy Ramsey Award. Wasted is a Kitchen Sink Theatre production and will star the original cast members Will Hearle and Serena Jennings.

Approximate runtime is 65 minutes. The performance will be followed by a conversation with the director, actors, and audience, moderated by Nate Couser of the <A HREF="https://www.facebook.com/ArtistExchange/" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Artist Exchange Radio Show</A>.

BCS is partnering with the One Love Foundation, a foundation that educates young people about the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships, and the Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault, the federally-recognized state sexual assault coalition.
<H5 CLASS="cyan">ABOUT ONE LOVE FOUNDATION</H5>
Yeardley Love was killed and her death was avoidable. Then a senior at the University of Virginia and three weeks shy of her graduation, Yeardley was beaten to death by her ex-boyfriend. Devastated by her loss, Yeardley’s family created One Love, a foundation that educates young people about the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships. Through dynamic and multi-layered education and social engagement campaigns, One Love equips young people with knowledge to help them develop healthy relationships and the tools to recognize and avoid abusive ones.
<H5 CLASS="cyan">ABOUT MCASA</H5>
The Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MCASA) is the federally-recognized state sexual assault coalition. Its core members are the state’s 17 rape crisis centers, but MCASA also represents the voices of many other professionals and service providers working with sexual assault survivors. MCASA provides policy advocacy, technical assistance, training, outreach, and prevention information. MCASA’s Sexual Assault Legal Institute (SALI) provides direct legal services for survivors of sexual violence and offers technical assistance and training for attorneys, rape crisis center staff and volunteers, and other professionals working with survivors. MCASA has a vision that Maryland will one day be a state free of sexual violence. By working to fulfill our mission–to help prevent sexual assault, advocate for accessible and compassionate care for survivors, and work to hold offenders accountable–we hope to realize our vision.
