a dance performance and immersive installation inviting audience members to witness narratives of Black motherhood. limited seating!
wash + set features interview content from sixteen Boston and Greater Boston Area Black Mothers, layered with community and cultural context specific to the artist's upbringing in a Black hair salon.
The sound score is a tapestry of interviews, found salon sounds and original music heard through salon dryer seating (overhead) or in styling chairs (via headphones) during the dance.
Performances will be held outdoors. The run time of the show is 30 minutes with no intermission.
