K Street NW! It's a crazy street to cross as a pedestrian. It's hard to drive because the traffic is backed up and it has those side roads that many have no idea how to use. If you're a bicyclist, you most likely avoid K St or try to ride on the side road. And you do all of that while navigating thousands of pedestrians.  Additionally, the K Street corridor has had a whopping 152 crashes, 38 serious injuries and 9 fatalities within 7 blocks! We want that to end!
On August 23rd at 6:30 pm, we will be hosting a mobile walking traffic safety workshop. We'll meet at McPherson Square metro on 15th Street NW and walk the K Street corridor stopping at 14th, 15th, 16th, Connecticut, and 21st St NW. We'll talk about the crashes at each intersection, traffic safety and ways to slow down drivers so people aren't seriously injured or killed.
So if you work, bike, walk or drive along K Street we want to hear your suggestions to make K Street safer for all road users.
