NE Oregon offer some of the most diverse and beautiful landscapes in the Northwest. Amazing granite mountains (nicknamed the Alps of America), the deepest canyon in North America, Oregon's largest grass land, wildlife (eagles, birds of prey, mountain goats), historic barns galore, ghost towns, abandoned mining towns, scenes vistas, the list goes on and on. A true paradise for photographers.

This workshop will start with 3 nights in Joseph Oregon and end with 3 nights in Halfway Oregon.

This year I've planned this workshop during a time of moonless nights which means some amazing star photography from an area with very little light pollution. I have conducted many astro photography workshop and will be able to guide you through the challenges of shooting in the dark.

Is transportation, meals and lodging included?

No. Each participant is responsible for their own transportation (to, from and during the workshop), meals and lodging. A list of accomodations will be provided once your registration is received.

What should I bring to the workshop?

Be prepared for cool weather in the morning and evening.

Tripod

Wide range of lenses from wide angle to telephoto

Mosquito/Tick repellant. The ticks were bad in 2015 but this was because of a mild winter. 2016 has been a colder winter so ticks should not be as bad. But come prepared just in case. A velcro strap to secure your pant legs at your ankles will help keep ticks off your skin.

Some of the roads in this area are gravel making for dusty travel. You may need to change the air filter in your car after the workshop.

Make your reservations at one of the motels ASAP.

We may eat some meals in the field. Bring extra food and water.
