About this event

Join Jessica Carew Kraft, author of Why We Need to Be Wild, in learning to walk like a wild human. Over the past centuries of sendentary, industrialized life, people have adopted ways of moving that are not optimal for our health. On this hike, you will learn the basic principles of natural movement and natural navigation, relying on your senses and perceptive abilities to find a new way to cross the ground. Understand how to realign your posture, protect your back, and gain new confidence with moving outdoors.

Jessica will talk about her journey from working in Silicon Valley tech to embracing nature immersion and learning the ancentral skills common to all humans over our 300,000-year history on earth as Homo sapiens in an overview of her book as a part of the hike.

Be sure to bring plenty of water and a snack, and dress in layers. Sturdy shoes or hiking boots are recommended. Heavy rain cancels.

This hike is limited to 25 participants.
