Walk in the Watershed with Supervisor Matt LaVere
Come learn about our watershed at our 3rd Annual District 1 - Walk in the Watershed Event.
Join us for Supervisor Matt LaVere's Watershed Walk 3! Through this guided walk at VLT's Big Rock Preserve, we'll explore local conservation efforts and learn about the vital work being done to protect our county watersheds.

📆Date: Saturday, October 25, 2025
⏰Time: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
📍Location: Big Rock Preserve, Ventura Land Trust
Parking & Arrival:
Please Park inside Foster Park off the pavement, on the sand/grassy area. The parking area will be clearly marked, and there will be parking attendants to assist. All guests will gather at the park entrance and be guided by a crossing guard to Big Rock Preserve. There, the Ventura Land Trust team will lead an educational walk focused on local conservation and watershed protection.
What to Bring:
Participants are encouraged to come prepared for an outdoor, intermediate-level trail experience. Please wear:
- Long pants and a long-sleeve shirt to protect from brush and sun exposure
- Sturdy, closed-toe shoes suitable for hiking uneven terrain
Additionally:
- Bring your own reusable water mug or tumbler
- No plastic water bottles, please — let’s keep this a low-waste event!
