WALA 501(c)(3) Formation “Basics” [Workshop]

Thinking about starting a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization?

This workshop serves as a basic guide!

Course Description: Starting a nonprofit organization requires passion, persistence, and the knowledge to navigate a complex legal landscape. This program will give you an overview of the benefits and burdens of 501(c)(3) status to help you decide if starting a nonprofit is right for you, and help you avoid the most common mistakes during the initial stages of the startup process. In this program, we will cover the basics of forming a nonprofit corporation, having a nonprofit Board of Directors, getting a tax ID number, applying for 501(c)(3) status and deciding between the Form 1023 and Form 1023-EZ, complying with state law registrations, and more.

PLEASE NOTE: this workshop is intended mainly for people in the early stages of the nonprofit formation process, but all are welcome.
