Founded in 2019, the EGD Collective is a nonprofit organization that works to increase the accessibility of the games industry through affordable education and public programming. Due to COVID-19 we're online now, but usually we're the only 100% free IRL gaming convention and conference in the world!

The future of the games industry is in our hands. The Waffle Games is a collaborative effort to redefine what it means to be involved in games and their communities. We want to keep fighting for affordable game development education, the legitimization of esports on college campuses, and the recognition of games as an art form. In line with this mission, all attendees, speakers, exhibitors, and volunteers can access the entire convention for FREE. We especially encourage students, faculty, and local studios to showcase their research, skills, and game projects​.NOTE: Due to the current global situation, Waffle Games 3.0 is now virtual! We are in the works of developing an in-person "Waffle Games 3.5" for the summer if the situation improves, and would love to see you all involved with that once we're on the other side of all this. However, we think it's important now more than ever to keep running events and providing resources for our communities in whatever way we can. We will be postponing until April 24th in order for our schedule to be reworked and for our exhibitors and speakers to prepare to virtualize their content. All donations will go to support CUNY campus foor pantries and emergency funds for games community members affected by COVID-19.Attend talks from game developers and other industry professionals, compete in tournaments, and visit our exhibit hall to see what's going on in the industry and discover in-development and newly released games!
