About this event

  • 2 hours

Kerry Phillips is an installation artist whose artwork borders on performance and social practice. Phillips’ work with found objects is intuitive, often site-specific, and steeped in remembrance and storytelling. She uses common objects in unexpected ways, working collaboratively with viewer-participants to reveal an exchange of value, the importance and limitations of memory, and the vitality of play.

Organized by

Women Artists’ Art Week initiative encourages art galleries and art institutions to advance gender equality in the art world. WAAW was born in London, U.K. and adopted all over our beautiful world.

The WAAW World initiative is open to all commercial art galleries and non-commercial art institutions that are willing to annually showcase only women-identifying artists on their own premises during the course of at least one week in June. We ask everyone to showcase women artists at the same time in order to achieve greater impact.

The primary goal of WAAW is to raise awareness about the imbalance of representation for women artists in the global art scene, and to help women artists launch their careers and achieve financial self-sufficiency. We encourage commercial and cultural art organizations to engage more with women artists in order to create an environment that appreciates and fosters women artists’ role in the art world.
