VRVienna presents: Reality+

VRViennais an international group of friends and professionals working in VR-related projects, interested in sharing and gaining knowledge about all things VR. This meetup is for those who are new to VR, as well as for experts in the field; for people coming from a technical background or a theoretical one, or even for those who are not related to VR but are dying to hear what it's all about. All inputs are welcome! VRVienna is a space in which all its members can share their vision of the future through this promising technology and perhaps coming up with projects together.VR-looking forward to meeting you;)

Dear VR Troopers, the time has come...to reunite! 
Our first event was all about getting to know one another and having a first glimpse of the endless possibilities of VR. Now it’s time for some ACTION! This month’s speakers will bring you closer to VR projects from beginning to end, showing you the good, the bad and the ugly of working with virtual reality today.
 
Speakers and topics
AR+: Dominik Sepulveda is an Augmented Reality project leader at Imagination Computer Service in Vienna and responsible for all MagicLens projects. He will be sharing with us some of his AR projects and telling us about the advantages and challenges of developing an AR game, as well as why AR is an interesting addition to the industry in general.
Education+: Jennifer Biechele is part of the research group Media Creation at the IC\M/T, FH St. Pölten whose field of research includes television & animation, 360° video/VR, game design and transmedia storytelling. She will be sharing with us one of the group's projects, an alternate reality game aimed to enhance media literacy and learning through game playing.
Journalism+: Florian Matscheko started working as a journalist 10 years ago for online media and TV, currently working at the junction of both at ORF. He is going to tell us about how to tell a story in an immersive surrounding from a journalistic perspective, along with the new storytelling demands that virtual reality brings with it.
 
'Ask An Expert' session
Having a VR project or thinking about developing one? We’ve prepared an after-talk session just for you! Come and present your project to experienced professionals associated to the VR industry and get some feedback! Meet the experts:
Vlad Gozman: Vlad has an entrepreneurial background of over 8 years, having been involved in several companies in Romania and Austria. When moving to Vienna in 2010, he founded the TEDxVienna community under license from the now well-known TED talks. He is the co-founder of ad-tech company Adverity, a founding board member of AustrianStartups and a partner of startup factory and M&A advisory i5invest. More recently he founded a new startup, The Tomorrow, working on an advertising technology for VR applications.
Mike Mandl: Mike is a 2D/3D designer and consultant for video post production, event design, video installation, architecture visualization, information graphics and advertising since 2002. He is also one of the VR pioneers in Austria and the co-founder of VRisch, the first VR production company in Vienna that specialises in innovative and meaningful VR storytelling.
Paul Alexandrow: Paul is a freelance IT consultant and software developer from Vienna specializing in the design and implementation of web-based services and applications. He also has extensive experience in development for Android devices and migration of legacy databases. As creator of the "Hop and Pop VR" canopy flight simulator, he is heavily engaged in the development of Virtual Reality applications and games. He is also a freelance commercial pilot, mostly deployed in paradrop operations all around Europe.
