Embassy of Finland presents:
In the spirit of armchair travelers everywhere, the Voyager Ensemble explores a new country of the world each year by combining standard repertoire along with a contemporary work by a composer from the region. This year’s concert focuses on FINLAND with directors Yoshioka and Yang joined by eminent Finnish musicians Kurt Nikkanen and Martti Rousi for the music of Rautavaara, Kaila, and Sibelius. They will perform ”Wisteria” for string quartet (2003) by contemporary Finnish composer Ilari Kaila.
