Volunteers needed For Hoops And Hope basketball clinic

Come join us for a day filled with Basketball, Food Trucks, Frisbee, and more. Our foundation believes in the power of sports to bring communities together and make a positive impact. This is a fun opportunity to do some community service. We're creating this post to attract more volunteers. This is a volunteer-only registration. The following positions are needed:

Set up help (10-12 people) – These are volunteers who help us set up tables, signage, chairs, Kids Zone games tables, silent auction, registration, etc. This group of about 10-12 people would need to be at the event by 8:30 am - and stay till 10 am (Sunday, June 9th).

Work at the Silent Auction Tables—We need 6 Volunteers (12 total) for 2 shifts (10-1pm and 1pm to 4:30 pm). These need to be adult (college age or up) volunteers whose job it will be to help people understand the items up for bid (tickets and memorabilia, restaurant and other gift cars, etc.), assist them in filling out the bid form, and engage with folks in a friendly and informative way.

Scorer /Timekeepers - Need 2 shifts of 4 Volunteers total at the two Scorer’s tables for games at 10am, 11am, 12pm, and 2pm, 3pm, and one game at 4pm) These would be college age or up volunteers who know something about basketball and can run the time and score part of a small electric scoreboard. Easy to do – but helpful if you know some basketball.

Volunteers for our information table (2 people)– meet and greet all the young people and families as they arrive who check their registration for the NBA youth Clinic we put on and answer any questions (schedule, bathrooms, games, etc.) people may have. These volunteers are needed from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm

Staff the Uniform/Sneaker distribution inside the Center (4 people) –This would assist in the distribution of uniform jerseys and sneakers assigned to each team. 9:30 -2:00pm)

Staff the Kids zone – (Need 2 shifts of 5 Volunteers 10:30 – 1:30 & 1:30 - 4pm -10 total) – this would include items such as bean bag games, bead necklaces, face painting, lawn games, paper and paint and other fun youth activities. Helpful if these volunteers have experience with working with younger children (probably ages 4-12) volunteers could be HS as well as College age)

Clean Up Help - Need 5-10 people to help with taking things down, putting chairs and tables away, bringing sound system indoors, etc. This would be from 5pm to 5:45 pm.
