Thank you very much for your interest in assisting veterans and the Library of Congress in this interview event sponsored by the American Red Cross, U.S. Senator James Lankford, and the National Society of Colonial Dames of America.Veterans are free to speak about whatever they want in the interview, as long as it includes personal accounts of their military service.

:Veterans telling their stories must fill out two required forms, the Biographical Data Form, and the Veteran's Release form. The release form gives the Veterans History Project permission to make your interview publicly available for nonprofit research purposes. It DOES NOT give away any rights. Copyright, likeness rights, and story rights are all retained by the veteran.

Please download, print, and bring the completed forms with you to your interview:

  2. Veteran's Release form: https://www.loc.gov/static/programs/veterans-history-project/documents/vhp-field-kit-veterans-release.pdf

These interviews are unedited and uncensored, so their words will go into the historical record exactly as they said them. Here is a list of sample questions on the Library of Congress website: https://www.loc.gov/programs/veterans-history-project/how-to-participate/sample-interview-questions/
